Duncan MacDonald- President
Hello, my name is Duncan MacDonald and I am your elected class president. A little about me is that I am born and raised here and Buffalo and can help with any questions about the area that anybody may have throughout their time here at UB. I just recently got engaged this summer to my lovely fiancé, Ashley and we are planning for a local wedding next August! I am an avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan, so definitely feel free to stop and talk to me about the latest game! I can’t wait to continue to get to know all of you guys and have an amazing 4 years as we all become pharmacists! 💊

Sandra Lu- Vice President
My name is Sandra Lu, and I am so excited to serve you as your Vice President! Just a little about myself: I am from Brooklyn, NY, meaning that I am a self-proclaimed passenger princess even though I have my driver's license (joking). For my undergrad, I did the Early Assurance program and especially enjoyed organic chemistry (I know, I am such an outlier) and microbiology. My fascination for science and advancements in medicine, as well as my passion for meeting and helping people in my community, led me to pharmacy. In the future, I hope to pursue clinical pharmacy. Outside of academics, I enjoy going on boba runs with friends, singing, baking, and volunteering. If you have any cafe recommendations, let me know and maybe we can go together! I also love planning and going to events, because who doesn't love seeing people smile and have fun? I am beyond excited to be working with all of you this year; together, P1 will be our best year yet! ❤️

Sviatoslav Kukil- Treasurer
Hello, my name is Sviatoslav Kukil, but I also go by Sviat. I’m the Treasurer for the P1 Class of 2028. I’m a Ukrainian-American who grew up in Yonkers, New York. I got into the UB School of Pharmacy through the Early Assurance program. In my free time, I love working out, running, and playing video games and I’m an avid anime watcher. I chose pharmacy because, in high school, I had a chemistry teacher who said I wouldn’t amount to anything in the field of science, and I just wanted to prove her wrong. Through the years I’ve learned to love the field, and I’ve found many parallels with what I like to do and what I want to do in the future. As of now, after Pharmacy School, I want to either go into compounding or do research on diabetes or anabolic steroids, but that’s all subject to change as we learn more about pharmacy.
I’m excited to help plan events for the class and I can’t wait to work with all of you and get to know you guys more! 💪🏻

Daniyal Atiq- Course Coordinator
Hi, my name is Daniyal Atiq, Curriculum Coordinator for the Class of 2028. As a quick background, I am Brooklyn NYC born and bred and I did my Bachelors in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Mathematics from St. Francis College in NYC. For my hobbies, I love going to the gym, reading, playing handball, and exploring new places. In terms of “Why pharmacy?”, I am interested in both the Pharmacy field and the Pharmaceutical Sciences. My interest stems from my experiences during undergrad and my own experience with an autoimmune condition. Because of this, I am also extremely driven by my goals of improving patient outcomes and contributing to the field of pharmaceutical sciences via research in Drug discovery and PK/PD. I hope to pursue a PharmD/PhD in the very near future. Looking forward to working with everyone! 🙂

Upcoming Events
First P1 Event: Breast Cancer Awareness Walk!
Hello everyone, I hope that you all are as excited for our first event as a class together as I am. As promised, here are some more details regarding the Breast Cancer Awareness walk taking place this upcoming week. The walk will take place on Friday, October 25th at 5:00 pm at the Ellicott Creek bike path. The group will meet by the tennis courts at the start of the bike path before the walk. We will be asking for donations that the proceeds will go to a local breast
cancer awareness foundation to show our support as an entire class! There will be snacks and beverages provided for all those who attend! Make sure to dress for the weather as it may be a bit chill as the sun starts to go down. If there are any questions or concerns regarding the event, feel free to reach out to any of the officers, we are more than happy to help
